NASCAR SPEEDPARK RAISES NEARLY $1,200 FOR WOUNDED WARRIORS

A Partnership with PARC Foundation and Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated™

NASCAR SpeedPark® in Myrtle Beach, through its charitable arm PARC Foundation, partnered with Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated™ and Wounded Warrior Project to host their first annual Celebrate our Heroes event, on November 12, 2011 at NASCAR SpeedPark.

In addition to the go-kart tracks and various SpeedPark attractions, activities also included the Coke Fun Zone, provided by Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated. During the event, guests were able to create and send holiday cards to active, deployed military, care of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated. Park guests also registered for two raffle drawings, which included a 4-pack of SpeedPark or Myrtle Waves Water Park tickets, Wounded Warrior Project merchandise and Coca-Cola merchandise. Funds were raised for Wounded Warrior Project during the event, and were generated from wristband purchases, register round-up, guest donations for Wounded Warrior Project merchandise, and Coca-Cola product recycling. Nearly $1,200 in donations will be given to Wounded Warrior Project as a result of the event.

In addition to fundraising, each park used social media to leverage their virtual marketing efforts and gain community involvement with the Grand Strand Miracle League, through volunteering or attending a game.

“We are happy to be able to bring these types of family-friendly events to Myrtle Beach, and are proud of the enthusiasm within our local community who came out to support this great cause”, says Bob Baldwin, Executive Director of PARC Foundation.
